The Thurston Hotel Series has nothing to do with CaRWA as a chapter of RWA. But I tapped into the pool of outstanding published authors within the group to mentor four members who had previously not published a book. Eleven of us signed on to participate, with me bookending the series with books 1 and 12. In my opinion, every author and every book in the series is a winner. 
Where is the Thurston Hotel you ask? The Thurston Hotel is on Main Street of the fictional mountain resort town of Harmony, Alberta nestled in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. The town’s population is 12,000, if you don’t count the thousands of tourists that pass through yearly. By the time we’d finished creating the series, the authors were convinced the town was actually on the map. Sadly, no, it isn’t. The Thurston Hotel was built by Thomas Thurston and opened in 1916. His three grandchildren operate the six-story hotel today. Following years in the position of Assistant General Manager, Ben Thurston became General Manager in August 2015 when his Aunt Emily suffered a heart attack and turned the operation over to him. His oldest sister, Wendy has worked for twenty years as Events Manager. Middle sibling, Bailey, is the hotel’s Chief Financial Officer. The siblings are planning a party to celebrate the hotel’s one-hundred-year anniversary in August.
Each book represents one month, and the plot centers mostly on that month in 2016. Several plotlines overlap and one recurring plotline begins in January (Book 1) and culminates in a wedding in December (Book 12).
